Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, ect.) My husband Jose and I moved from New York City to Cumming, GA in October of 2020. We decided during the pandemic that we wanted to be closer to our son Justin who lived in Atlanta. Justin recently completed his 3rd year of medical school and is aspiring to be a neurosurgeon. We also have 2 dogs. Luke is a Giant Schnauzer and Taina is a Doberman. I retired as a First Grade Detective from the New York City Police Department after 24 years of service. I was also a first responder during the WTC attack on 9/11. Currently I am a behavioral health clinician conducting court ordered evaluations at the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office jail. I am enjoying all the outdoorsy things to do now that I live in the South!
What were you doing before CSF? During the pandemic gyms were not open in NYC so I was working out with friends in the park.
Favorite music to workout to? Hip hop, salsa and freestyle..anything that I can dance to!
Favorite Cheat meal? Large açaí bowls with all the granola!
What were your goals when you joined CS&F and have you achieved them? To be consistent and I definitely accomplished that! On to some new goals!
Do you have any other special memories/achievements during your time here? Every time I leave CS&F I achieved something! Even if it was just getting through a challenging workout. My special memories are daily. The smiles, the encouraging “you got this” , cheering each other on, fist bumps, high fives and even the moans after the workout from our fit fam creates great memories!
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness? Just show up! I guarantee you will ALWAYS be glad you did. Live outside your comfort zone because that’s where great things happen!
Something we might not know about you is? I don’t eat anything with eyes or parents!
