Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.).
I am married to Daron. This year we celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We have two daughters, Alexa and Aleta, which you all know who also attend CS&F. The girls were the ones that finally got me into CrossFit. I recently went back into the field of teaching. I am a Kindergarten Teacher online with Georgia Cyber Academy. I do enjoy watching sports like baseball and football. Yes, I’m a DAWG fan! My interests include spending time with my family and friends and vacationing. As many of you know, I love to vacation at Walt Disney World, and we are annual passholders. I also love to go to the beach.
What were you doing before you joined CS&F?
As Jill and Hunter know, I brought the girls to workout daily, and I walked the path by the church to the tag office.
Favorite Cheat meal?
My favorite cheat meal is pizza.
What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?
My goal was to run 400 meters around the area of the gym without stopping. It is true, I couldn’t run it without stopping. Yes, I am happy to say that I now have achieved my goal.
Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?
Yes, I have many special memories. First of all, a special thank you to Hunter and Jill for taking my girls into their gym and helping them to rehab from previous injuries. Alexa was 15 years old and Aleta was 13 years old when they started at the gym. Also, remembering 5 years ago when Alexa, Aleta, Jill, and Hunter all went to Wodapalooza for the first time. We had a blast together! Since this time, the girls and I have developed many friendships. We are truly blessed to be at CS&F. We look forward too many more memories.
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?
The advice I would give is that it takes hard work and determination to master skills. Patience is a must in CrossFit. Finally, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again!
Something you might not know about me is?
When I was in middle school I played softball and basketball. In high school, I was the Captain of my Cheerleading Squad.
