Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.).
My husband Jeff and I have lived in Cumming for 23 years. We have 3 adult sons, and 3 wild and crazy grand babies. I own TRUGrit Swim Gym, which is a seasonal onsite swim lesson program. My instructors travel to neighborhood and private pools and teach swim skills to all ages and abilities. I love to cook, eat and travel! I love adventure.
What were you doing before you joined CS&F?
I was working out at the Y, lifting and going to classes.
Favorite music to workout to?
Anything Jeff Gravitt likes to play!
Favorite Cheat meal?
Lobster “Outta-Hand” (a split Florida lobster tail stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, shrimp, scallops, crab meat, shallots, capers, garlic in a lemon white wine butter sauce. ) yummo!
What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?
Ha! It was to look good naked. I lost 45 lbs, decreased my body fat %, gained muscle and confidence. I don’t know that I ever met my original goal. But now my goal is to feel good naked. I’m always a work in progress.
Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?
I was able to do 2 strict pull ups within 6 months. (Another goal I originally had) Hiking with the girls on Sundays. Running with my granddaughter Elyse in a jog stroller when I first started. She was so little, and it made it so easy to run when I didn’t have her! And always being greeted at noon by Shane, “Thanks for being here,”
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?
Just keep showing up. That’s all you have to do. Get your butt through the doors. You can even lie to yourself like I did and say you’re going to sit on the bike the whole time you’re here. It works. Also, take advantage of your coaching sessions!! They are invaluable!
Something we might not know about you is?
I was born a month early in the back seat of my grandparents car in the hospital parking lot. (It was the only time I’ve been early my whole life.)
