Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.).
Josh and I have been married for nearly 10 years and we have two adorable sons and two dogs. The two of us work full time at the same company and have ever since we got married. We love adventuring together with our family and that can be small adventures on a Saturday and big adventures like driving to Upstate NY with two small children. We absolutely love Disney and visit as often as we can.
What were you doing before you joined CS&F?
Josh – Basically just cycling.
Kristen – HIIT work outs through Atlanta Fitness
What was the first CD you bought?
Josh – Dr. Dre – The Chronic 2001
Favorite Cheat meal?
Josh – Chips, Salsa, and Margaritas at La Cava de Tequila in Epcot
Kristen – Mexican food and all the cheese dip – literally any Mexican food
What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?
I think we both were simply looking for a fitness program that we enjoyed but also that we could be pushed further than we would go on our own. Crossfit became that for us – it’s hard but we’ve learned that we are both capable of more. CS&F has also been a place for us to always come back to throughout all of the seasons in life and so our goals continually are changing but the biggest goal is to keep coming back and starting to move again.
Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?
We both competed in Thanksgiving Throwdown a couple of years ago (against each other..ha) and it was super fun! Fun to push yourself and the competition atmosphere is electric!
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?
Josh – Have fun and don’t take it too seriously. Get to know the coaches and people at the gym they are awesome. Biggest thing I learned was to trust the process and be ok with were I was at. My fitness level has changed a bunch as we’ve had kids or had busy work seasons, but the coaches have always helped me get to where I was hoping to be.
Kristen – Keep coming back! I’ve taken many breaks throughout my time at CS&F because of babies, traveling for work and simply being busy but I always come back and I am always met with encouragement from coaches and other members! It’s worth it!
Something we might not know about you is?
Josh – I’ve completed 3 Centuries, which is where you ride 100 miles on a bike.
Kristen – I am a travel agent so in my spare time I love helping families plan travel sometimes to my favorite place (Disney World) but often times other destinations as well. It brings my so much joy to help families capitalize on the time we have together to create memories traveling together 🙂
