When did you start with Cumming Strength and Fitness?
I started March 2016 with Rachel doing 1:1. I can’t believe I’ve been with the CS&F fam for 3 years!
Any workout with the olympic lifts!
Least Favorite Workout?
Anything with running. I’d rather row or get on the Assault bike for meters or calories. People probably think I’m crazy.
Least favorite Movement?
Bench press, because I don’t do it often and I’m still trying to figure out the technical aspects of it and learning how to brace/breathe, haha.
Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.).
I’ve been a nurse for 4 years, mostly working in the CVICU/critical care. I love traveling (actually going on a solo trip to Japan and Singapore this summer), food, and weightlifting.
What were you doing before you joined CS&F?
Nothing really, but globo gym stuff. After gaining a lot of weight in nursing school, I decided after graduation and getting a job that I wanted to be healthier. My friend introduced me to Crossfit at another gym, I loved it, and wanted to find one local to me, which ended up being one of the best CF gyms ever: CS&F!
What was the first CD you bought?
Avril Lavigne’s ‘Let Go’. I remember begging my mom for it, haha.
Favorite Cheat meal?
I love ice cream. Not a meal exactly. Jeni’s Ice Cream is my kryptonite.
What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?
My initial goals were just getting to a healthier weight which I was able to do, but now it’s more of an on-going goal. My new lifetime goals are a 160 lb snatch and a 200 lb C&J (hopefully lol).
Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?
Jill and Scott gave me the encouragement to sign-up for my first weightlifting. I had so much fun and made some big PRs!
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?
Focus on technique, not the weight.
Something you might not know about me is?
I used to figure skate competitively and be a rink rat at The Cooler back in the day.
