When did you start with Cumming Strength and Fitness?
Patrick: My wife and I started with Cumming Strength and Fitness in the summer of 2016 after moving back to Cumming from Rome, GA where I completed my medical residency. I started rossfit with CrossFit Rome in January of 2015.

Least Favorite Workout?
Patrick: Fran! Pull-ups are my nemesis.
Meaghan: Anything with running
Patrick: Clean and Jerk
Meaghan: Power Cleans!
Least favorite Movement?
Patrick: Anything gymnastic – mostly pull-ups.
Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.).
Patrick: I’m a local family doc practicing here in Cumming as well as Milton one day per week. My wife Meaghan inspired me to join crossfit during my medical residency which has significantly improved my lifestyle and allowed us to meet new forever friends. We enjoy lake lanier with our 2 children Ava and Bella who are active with Coach Alexa and the Youth Sports Performance class. Our golden retriever “Kirby” can be found watching the workouts on many Saturdays.
Meaghan: I’m married to my husband Patrick, and we have two daughters – Ava and Bella! I’m a pediatric dentist and own my practice, Smile Pop. I’m a Georgia Bulldog to the core and a golden retriever lover! I love spending my free time at the lake!
What were you doing before you joined CS&F?
Patrick: Training to be a doctor while avoiding exercise.
Meaghan: I was a member at Crossfit Rome for a few years prior to moving back to Cumming.
What was the first CD you bought?
Patrick: Counting Crows: August and Everything After.
Meaghan: Oh gosh – maybe Alanis Morissette?!
Favorite Cheat meal?
Patrick: Pizza and Beer
Meaghan: Mexican with chips and cheese dip!
What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?
Patrick: My goal was to find a fitfam that encouraged me to find enjoyment and be consistent with my fitness. The folks at CS&F are the best people on the planet and I look forward to seeing my friends at my workouts.
Meaghan: My goal has always been to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It’s a work in progress!
Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?
Patrick: I had the privilege to compete in the 2019 Ragnar Trail Relay with my fitfam. It was the most amount of running I’d ever done in 24 hours. It was an awesome yet humbling experience!
Meaghan: Yes – one of my first workouts ever was a nooner. I remember there was the loudest person I have ever met moaning all about how hot it was and something about “Lord Jesus” – lol. Now I call Josh Angel a great friend and look forward to his never ending energy! Haha.
What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?
Patrick: The key to crossfit in my opinion is to focus on consistency and intensity. The PRs come with time. Most importantly – don’t look at the leader board for at least a year if you’re competitive!
Meaghan: Just start. You don’t have to know anything, and you don’t have to “get strong first” – just keep coming. It’s pretty fun. 🙂
Something you might not know about me is?
Patrick: Medicine is a second career for me. I started med school at age 29 and previously worked in IT startups.
Meaghan: I have RBF (j/k – I know everyone knows this about me)! Lol
