April Athlete of the Month: Justin Sindersine

When did you start with Cumming Strength and Fitness?

3 years ago this past December

Favorite Workout?

Least Favorite Workout?

Anything with running in it.

Favorite Movement?

Anything with the word “Press” in it.

Least Favorite Movement?

Burpees without a doubt!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a husband to an awesome wife, Amy, and a father to the best twins a dad to ask for, Emma and Abigail, who will be 16 in August. PRAY FOR ME!!! I played baseball all through college. I love college football, GO DAWGS! I would be in the woods hunting every week if I could. I absolutely love hanging out with family and friends.

What were you doing before you joined CS&F?

I had been doing Crossfit for a year but before that, NOTHING!

What was the first CD you bought?

I can’t remember my first CD but my first cassette was Michael Jackson!!! I know, there are some people at CS&F that will say “cassette?”

Favorite Cheat meal?

What were your goals when joining CS&F and have you achieved them?

My goal was plain and simple. Become a better person inside and out. I think I’m moving in the right direction but still have a long way to go. I guess we’re always trying to “improve” ourselves?

Do you have any other special memories/ achievements during your time here?

I’ve actually competed in EXERCISE competitions with Mark Howard and Lee Fraser.

What advice would you give to a newbie just joining Cumming Strength and Fitness?

Enjoy the grind and embrace the suck!! It’s gonna hurt, but it really does get better, and remember, almost everyone at CS&F, at one time or another, could not do a pull-up or a double under!! We’ve ALL been there and we will ALL help you get to where you want to be. Introduce yourself to someone you don’t know, you never know, they may turn out to be a life long friend. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.

Something you might not know about me is?

There’s probably not much you don’t already know about me. I’m an open book. I’ll talk about anything, but I guess for the new people that don’t really know me YET, I’m a cancer survivor. Actually, 5 years ago this past March 22. This is probably the main reason why you will rarely see me without a smile. You never know what tomorrow brings so I’m gonna try my best to be happy today!
